Kerala State Lottery is a government-run lottery system operated by the Finance Department of the Government of Kerala. Established in 1967 under the leadership of the then Finance Minister, Sri. P. K. Kunju Sahib, Kerala became the first state in India to have a lottery department.

Draw Timings

All lottery draws are conducted at 3:00 PM IST daily at Gorky Bhavan, near Bakery Junction, Thiruvananthapuram, under the supervision of lottery department officials.

Most Kerala State Lottery tickets are priced at ₹40 per ticket.

Prize Structure

Kerala Lottery offers multiple prize categories:

  • 1st Prize: ₹70-80 Lakhs (varies by scheme)
  • Consolation Prize: ₹8,000
  • 2nd Prize: ₹5-10 Lakhs
  • 3rd Prize: ₹1 Lakh
  • 4th Prize: ₹5,000
  • 5th Prize: ₹2,000-1,000
  • 6th Prize: ₹500
  • 7th Prize: ₹100
  • 8th Prize: ₹50 (in some schemes)

How to Claim Prizes

For Prizes up to ₹5,000:

  • Can be claimed from any authorized lottery agent
  • Present the winning ticket
  • Provide ID proof

For Prizes above ₹5,000:

  • Must be claimed at the Lottery Department office in Thiruvananthapuram
  • Submit claim form (available at the office)
  • Present original winning ticket
  • Provide ID proof and address proof
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • PAN card (mandatory)

Important Notes

  • Prizes must be claimed within 30 days of the draw date
  • TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) of 30% applies to prizes above ₹10,000
  • Always verify results with the official Gazette
  • Keep your ticket safe – it’s your only proof of winning
  • Don’t write or damage the ticket
